Lung Cheung Government Secondary School is a Gov't Co-ed secondary school located in Hong KongThe school was founded in 1970. The school is located in Wong Tai Sin, and covers an area of approximately 4500 square meters. The supervisor/chairman of the school management committee is CHEUNG Hau-yee, Rio (Principal Education Officer, EDB) Ms.,And the principal is LAW Man-tak Mr. [Bachelor of Arts (HKU), Postgraduate Diploma in Education (CUHK)]. The sponsoring body of Lung Cheung Government Secondary School is Education Bureau and is a non-religious school. The mission of the school: "'Every student has the potential to be successful'.

School Management

School's Major Concerns:
1. To raise the learning motivation of students of huge learner diversity and raise their learning effectiveness.
2. To cultivate the correct values in students and help them establish their life paths.

School Management Organisation:
The School Management Committee (SMC) is set up to make school-based decisions regarding administrative and management policies. The School Development Committee and different functional groups help to facilitate the integration of learning and teaching through Pastoral Care, Values Education and co-curricular activities, close liaisons with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Alumni Association.

Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee:
Our School Management Committee (SMC) was set up in 1999. It now consists of 10 members, including the Chairman (assigned by & a delegate of EDB), the School Principal, 2 parent representatives, 2 Alumni representatives, 2 independent members and 2 teacher representatives. Under normal circumstances, three meetings are held every year to discuss and report on major school matters.

School Green Policy:
The School has an Environmental Education Centre for conducting learning activities. Each class will assign an Environmental Protection Ambassador to assist in the dissemination of green messages. Talks and various activities like the green campus are organized and staff and students are encouraged to reduce paper and electricity consumption to promote environmental awareness among students.

Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
Our language policy is in the line with the EDB policy of promoting biliteracy and trilingualism in Hong Kong schools. To provide our students with more opportunities to be exposed to and use English at junior secondary levels, we are revising and developing our school-based curriculum in English Language for junior form students and running English Enhancement Courses for senior form students. Concurrently, English terms will also be incorporated in the learning materials of other non-language subjects. Supporting measures such as Chinese and English Extensive Reading Schemes, Morning Reading Scheme, participating in Chinese and English Speech Festival, English Debating Competition, organizing tutorial classes for Chinese and English and English Drama Performance are also conducted so as to meet the policy goal of upholding mother-tongue teaching while enhancing students' proficiency in both Chinese and English.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
Our school emphasizes learning & teaching effectiveness. Different forms of assignments are designed, including extensive reading, project work and tailor-made worksheets. An adequate number of elective subjects are offered to cultivate an all-round education. Under NSS, senior form students can choose at most 2 elective subjects from various elective subjects. Our school provides a school-based curriculum to enhance students' motivation in learning and making achievements. We encourage our students to read extensively through our Morning Reading Sessions, Extensive Reading Award Scheme and by setting up a Library Corner in each classroom. The English Corner and the Chinese Corner also house a variety of audio-visual aids and materials for students' leisure reading. Our school promotes self-directed learning strategies to encourage students to do pre-lesson preparation and develop their note-taking skills. Self-directed Learning Apps are developed by our ICT teacher to nurture students with good self-learning habits. To enhance students' self-confidence and presentation skills, our school provides opportunities for developing multi-intelligence such as debating and MC training. Also, prize-giving ceremonies are organized to commend students with outstanding performance in different fields.

There is a comprehensive national security, moral and civic education programme to cultivate the right values in students and foster them to develop a sense of national identity. The school encourages students to learn from reading, promotes strong reading culture to develop their reading interest and habits. Under IT in Education, our school makes use of Microsoft Teams as our teaching-learning platform to promote e-learning to enhance students' learning motivation and effectiveness. Parents can obtain school news and information easily from the platform. In the area of project learning, students are given the freedom to select topics they feel inclined to study and explore further. The student-oriented approach provides room for students to acquire as well as practise different generic skills.

Life Planning Education:
Career and life planning is an ongoing and lifelong process for personal fulfillment, with different foci at different stages of the life time. Student Support

Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
Curriculum adjustment and tailor-made materials are provided to cater for learners' diversity. The Individual Education Plan is designed for students who need extra support on social, emotional and academic development. The school adopts a 3-Tier Support Model with long-term and short-term plans. Long-term plan includes establishing long-term learning goals with regard to the expectations of parents, students and schools, and post-school options. Short-term plans include short-term learning objectives, relevant teaching strategies, success criteria and dates of review.

Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
The school adopts a whole school approach to Integrated Education. Student Support Team members include Principal, Assistant Principals, SENCO, subject teachers (Chinese, English and Mathematics), teaching assistants etc. The team supports students in need. Teachers are enrolled in the relevant courses so as to advance in professionalism. The school makes good use of the Learning Support Grant and other resources to provide students' support, such as employing teachers for individual or group learning consultation, individual counselling, life survival skills, social skills teaching and speech therapy services. Through curriculum designs, multi-dimensional teaching approaches, tiered assignments, homework and assessment adjustments, students' learning diversity is catered for. The two school social workers, the speech therapist and the educational psychologist meet regularly with the team for case consultations and student assessments. Parents are invited to join the meetings and workshops to review the progress of their children's Individual Education Plans so that they can learn the positive and effective parenting skills.

Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment:
Both formative and summative assessments are conducted throughout the school year to ensure improvement in learning and teaching. In each school term, students are required to sit for one mid-term test and one final examination as well as tests and quizzes of different subjects. To enhance junior form students’ competency in Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics, tutorial classes are organized in school. In addition, our school arranges academic enhancement classes for senior form students to boost their academic performance in HKDSE.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
To promote home-school cooperation, annual events like talks on parenting skills, tea gatherings for teachers and parents, school outings and workshops are organized by the Parent-Teacher Association.

2022-2023 Key Development Project:
1. To raise the motivation of junior form students in learning English and consolidate their English foundation, cater for learners’ diversity and enhance their learning effectiveness.
2. To formulate the school-based online learning platforms and promote self-directed learning in order to cater for students' different learning needs and progress and enhance their confidence in learning.
3. To enhance cross-curricular learning and students' learning motivation, and raise learning effectiveness.
4. To encourage peer lesson observations and professional sharing so as to optimize teaching methodologies to cater for learners' diversity and raise teaching effectiveness.

Teacher Professional Training and Development:
